Kauai, also
known as "The Garden Isle" is known for its lush landscape
and magnificent waterfalls. The island is one of the oldest known
land areas in the world with most of the island being rural, forested
and protected from commercial development.
Kauai hosts several diverse climates including
semi-tropical, swamp land and desert. There are over 40 white sand
beaches or 50 miles of beach; mountains that reach over 3,500 feet
high and the only navigable rivers in Hawaii.
Kauai receives the most rainfall anywhere in the
world; however, don't let that be a concern to you as most of the
rain occurs in the interior of the island around Mt. Wai`ale`ale.
This area is mostly inaccessible. Showers are more often fleeting,
with sunny skies that follow almost immediately.
